Rebates, handled

We handle your rebate, start to finish.

You give us the information we need: a recent utility bill, your room or unit count and your HVAC details. We do the rest. We verify your eligibility, complete and submit the applications, coordinate any utility inspections and follow up until your rebate is collected. No forms for your team to chase.

You send the information we need. A recent utility bill, your room or unit count and your HVAC details.
We verify eligibility for your exact address and utility, before you commit to anything.
We complete and submit the applications, including pre-approval before install, and coordinate any utility inspections.
We follow up until the rebate is collected. No forms for your team to chase.
Who gets the check? Your choice. We can file it so the rebate is paid to you. Or, where the program allows, you sign a simple release that assigns it to Lock-IT, which lowers your upfront cost. Some programs, including TVA EnergyRight and JCP&L, can pay us directly. Either way, we handle the paperwork.

Rebate amounts, approval and timing are set by each utility and can change. We confirm eligibility for your exact address before you commit.

Lower upfront cost, no loan.

Where your utility allows it, you can assign the rebate to Lock-IT and it comes off what you pay up front. Some programs, including TVA EnergyRight and JCP&L, pay us directly. Or keep the check yourself. Your choice, and we handle the paperwork either way.

    How rebates work

    Two kinds of rebates

    Prescriptive: a fixed amount

The utility publishes a set amount per room, unit, thermostat, sensor or ton of cooling. If your project meets the conditions, that’s the rebate. Most require pre-approval before install.

    Custom: calculated for your project

The utility pays based on the energy your project saves (per kWh or kW) or a share of its cost, often with a cap. We prepare the savings calculations and the application.

    Prescriptive rebates (52)

Fixed, published amounts for guest room and in-suite energy management. Last checked November 1, 2026. We verify every program monthly, on the 1st of each month, and again whenever a program year rolls over. Amounts are what a property may qualify for; final incentives depend on utility approval, funding and eligibility.

    How we verify

Every row is checked against the utility’s or program administrator’s own current program page or document, not third-party lists, and carries a “last checked” date. We verify every program on the 1st of each month, and again whenever a program year rolls over, so the last-checked date on each row stays current.

    Registered-provider programs

Some utilities only pay through registered providers or trade allies (TVA EnergyRight, Oncor, AEP Texas and the Consumers Energy small business program). Those rows say “We handle the program paperwork.”

    FAQ

    Questions owners ask us

What do you need from me?
A recent utility bill, your room or unit count and your HVAC details (PTAC, fan coil, split and so on). Where a utility needs the owner’s signature, we’ll tell you exactly where to sign. That’s it.
    Who gets the rebate check?
Your choice. We can file it so the rebate is paid to you, or, where the program allows, you can assign it to us to reduce your upfront cost. Either way, we handle the paperwork.
Do I need approval before the install?
Usually, yes. Most programs require pre-approval before equipment is installed, which is why we file first and install second. Installing first can cost you the rebate.
What’s the difference between prescriptive and custom rebates?
A prescriptive rebate is a fixed, published amount, for example per room or per thermostat. A custom incentive is calculated from the energy your project saves or from its cost, so the amount depends on your property. We prepare the savings calculations for custom applications.
My utility isn’t on the list. Can I still get a rebate?
Possibly. Programs change and some utilities only offer incentives case by case. Send us your utility bill and we’ll check your exact address for free.
Do rebates apply to new construction?
Some do and some don’t. Several programs are for existing buildings only (for example TVA EnergyRight and Pepco), while others allow new construction with limits (Puget Sound Energy, for hotels of 50 rooms or fewer). We’ll tell you which applies before you commit.
Can you guarantee the rebate amount?
No one honestly can. Amounts, approval and timing are set by each utility and can change or run out of funding. What we can promise is that we’ll confirm eligibility for your address before you commit, and file everything correctly and on time.
    Free savings estimator

See what empty rooms are costing you.

Enter a few numbers for a quick, conservative estimate of what occupancy-based guestroom controls could save. Typical savings are 20–35% of guestroom HVAC energy with a 12–18 month payback. Results vary. No email required, and no pricing.

How do you want to enter your electric cost?

Results vary. This is a rough, conservative estimate, not a quote or guarantee. It assumes guestroom heating and cooling is only part of your electric bill (about 15–30% depending on HVAC type) and applies the 20–35% savings range from manufacturer-published studies to that share only. Your real savings depend on utility rates, climate, occupancy, HVAC condition and available rebates. We confirm your numbers during the free assessment. Your property may qualify for 74 verified utility rebate programs and more.
